Update on auto accident: If I did not have insurance, I would owe over $800 to fix my car and almost $1400 to fix that damn Denali. Hmm, I guess I'm glad I have insurance and I sure hope that three months from now I don't need to have any.

I'm doing a very bad job catching up with people. More efforts tonight.

I saw The Usual Suspects. If you have never seen it, skip to where it says HERE on the blog, so I don't ruin it for you. At the risk of being shot/screamed at I will say: it wasn't that great. It was a good twist at the end, but I had my suspicions for the better part of the film about it, where as other film like The Sixth Sense or Shawshank Redemption, I had no idea what was coming. Also, once I figured it out, I noticed that there were several times where the film deliberatly told the story out of sequence or tied things together that weren't really tied together to mislead the viewer. I felt like I had just listened to someone tell a big story and then say it never really happened. I can appreciate a film that uses clever technique, suggestion, and character to leave the viewer guessing at the end, but to just lie seems like a cheap way to progress through a film. It was as if I told you that Guy X had committed the crime, though there was no indication of this anywahere in my story.

In the works - a big grill/kegger for all and a pubcrawl for few. The best laid plans...
